Perisher Ski Patrol: Volunteers with an Edge

We are an organisation of shared values and our mission is:

“To serve the skiing public with integrity and to promote safety and excellence to ensure that Perisher Ski Patrol is a fun, united and sustainable organisation.”

A brief history

Perisher Ski Patrol Inc. formally commenced in 1969 by 10 skiers. Today our numbers have substantially grown and as times have changed so has the patrol, as our ranks now include snowboarders and cross country members who share these common values. We have a growing number of associate members who play an active role in the organisation.  Prior to 1968, we provided first aid on an ad-hoc basis as members of various alpine clubs.

As volunteers, we have operated from many ‘bases’ over the years, including a caravan, the basement of a church, and the garbage pick-up area and now our Head Quarters building where visitors are welcome to meet patrollers. This could only have been achieved through the dedication and perseverance of our hard-working members, the outstanding support of individuals, clubs, Perisher Resort owners, and the Federal and State governments. Our facilities enable us to offer the high standard of care that visitors to the Perisher resort and to the alpine areas have come to expect.
